ADP Data from the National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement (NSLVE) and March 2017 Deadline to Sign Up

More than 150 ADP campuses are participating in the free and easy National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement (NSLVE) which measures student voter registration and turnout as one set of measures of students’ nonpartisan democratic engagement.

Did you know that these ADP campuses, on average, outperform not only other public four-year institutions, but also the national average for participating colleges and universities? You’ll find a full report of how ADP institutions perform in the National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement (NSLVE) for the 2012 presidential election here.

National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement (NSLVE)

The November 2016 presidential election underscored the importance of educating college and university students for informed, responsible participation in democracy. To support this mission, we remind you of our partnership with Tufts University’s Institute for Democracy and Higher Education and specifically the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE). NSLVE is a service to higher education, providing participating colleges and universities with tailored reports containing their students’ aggregate voter registration and voting rates. NSLVE is also a national database for research on student political learning and engagement in democracy.

Nearly 950 campuses,  including more than 150 ADP/AASCU member campuses, already receive NSLVE reports. Participating institutions represent all states and institutional types. Click here to see a list of participating institutions.

NSLVE is not a survey. The Tufts researchers use enrollment lists already submitted by your institution to the National Student Clearinghouse. And NSLVE fully protects student privacy. Tufts researchers do not receive any student names, only de-identified data. Participating institutions receive their data in confidential reports similar to this one.

NSLVE is free and signing up is easy. Simply sign this electronic form (or paper form). To receive voting data for the 2016 election, you must sign up by March 1, 2017.
