ADP, TDC and NASPA Announce New Partnership for 2015 Civic Learning Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Meeting
The American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ (AASCU) American Democracy Project, The Democracy Commitment (TDC) and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education announced a partnership to strengthen and deepen both public and private institutional commitments to advancing the civic learning and democratic engagement of college students. Leaders from AASCU’s American Democracy Project (ADP), TDC and NASPA will provide direction for the partnership and the combined national meeting, to be held June 4-6 in New Orleans, La. AASCU Spearheads National Initiative Focused on Economic Inequality
The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) is spearheading a national effort to engage students in the topic of economic inequality and its impact on democracy through a three-year initiative. Leading the 31 participating institutions in this effort are Keene State College (N.H.) and Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) of Gardner, Mass.; all participants are members of AASCU’s American Democracy Project (ADP) or The Democracy Commitment (TDC). 2015 Faculty Seminar in Yellowstone National Park
2015 marks the 11th summer of our Yellowstone seminar, part of the American Democracy Project’s Stewardship of Public Lands Initiative. The seminar, a partnership with the Yellowstone Association, is open to faculty members from any academic discipline. Read more here.

Harry Boyte from the American Commonwealth Partnerships reports on the White House Civic Summit on Higher Education. The summit took place at Tufts University (Mass.). The White House, working with the Department of Education, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Tuft’s Tisch College of Citizenship, organized a gathering on higher education’s civic purposes. 2014 Midterm Elections Tweet-Up
ADP and TDC teamed up to cultivate a multi-campus digital dialogue about the 2014 Midterm Elections during a week-long period in November. ADP and TDC encouraged student and faculty to engage in a discussion via Twitter about issues addressed in this important election cycle—including the domestic policy issues most affecting higher education.
