This week marked the anniversary of two major U.S. historical events. Tuesday, November 19 was the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg Address. And today, Friday, November 22 marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Check out these various media projects commemorating these two moments in our collective history:
- Watch living U.S. presidents and other politicians and notable citizens recite the famous lines of the Gettysburg Address as part of a Ken Burn’s project.
- Record your own recitation of the address and share it.
- Watch Institute of Politics students honor JFK’s public service legacy.
- Use #EveryDayJFK to honor this legacy in your own way on social media channels. Here is an #EveryDayJFK sign to include in your photo/video.
Tell us how you and your campus commemorated these two historic occasions!
