Second Speaker Announced for GCI 2013 — Get Registered!
As you well know, in November, the American Democracy Project will hold its two-day Global Challenges Institute, which will introduce participants to numerous tools for educating globally competent citizens.
This year, our Global Engagement Scholars (faculty members from 11 AASCU campuses) will be joined by a student panel and two other noteworthy speakers. We announced the first–Mike Jeffress with the National Intelligence Council—last week, and today we bring you word on the other individual speaking to us on the afternoon of November 8th.
David H. Grinspoon is an American astrobiologist. He is the current curator of Astrobiology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and was appointed Baruch S. Blumberg NASA-Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology for 2012/2013.
He has published two books, Venus Revealed and Lonely Planets: The Natural Philosophy of Alien Life, the latter of which won the 2004 PEN literary award for nonfiction He is an adjunct professor of Astrophysical and Planetary Science at the University of Colorado.
