New England Regional Civic Engagement Conference at MWCC May 29 and 30
We invite you to join Mount Wachusett Community College and The Democracy Commitment for the Northeast and New England regional meeting, Rooting Change: The VISION for Civic Engagement in Higher Education.
In honor of their 50th Anniversary and commitment to civic education, Mount Wachusett Community College, in partnership with The Democracy Commitment, will host a two-day conference focusing on the integration of Democratic Practice and Civic Learning into curricula and programming. The Massachusetts Vision Project Task Force on “Preparing Citizens” will also be discussed, with focus on impact statewide and institutionally.
This two-day conference is meant to act as a sort of pre-conference session to supplement the ADP/TDC national conference being held in Denver, Colorado from June 6-8, 2013. Because we understand that some may not be able to attend the national conference, we wanted to make sure there was an opportunity to still participate in civic engagement seminars. We welcome anyone who would like to attend, even if you are already attending the Denver conference! Please pass this email along to anyone on your campus who you believe would benefit from attending this regional meeting.
The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, 2013. Registration is $35 for one day or $50 for both. For more information about the conference, click here.
To sign up for the conference, or if you have specific questions, please contact Fagan Forhan at firstname.lastname@example.org or (978)630-9595.
