1st District candidate forum to be on public TV
BUNKER HILL — Smoky Hills Public Television will air a live forum featuring candidates for the 1st District Congressional seat at 7 p.m. April 26, with an encore broadcast scheduled for 5 p.m. May 9.
The candidates will answer questions from the Fort Hays State University Chapter of the Collegiate Farm Bureau, the American Democracy Project, the FHSU Young Democrats, the FHSU College Republicans and the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce. Members of the audience will be able to ask questions if time allows.
The forum will be in the Fort Hays Ballroom at the FHSU Memorial Union. Kent Steward, director of university relations at Fort Hays State, is the moderator.
All 1st District candidates have been invited to participate. The candidates are Jim Barnett, of Emporia; Sue Boldra, of Hays; Marck Cobb, of Galva; Tim Huelskamp, of Fowler; Alan Jilka, Tracey Mann and Monte Shadwick, all Salina; and Rob Wasinger, of Hays.
